Not sure, but I think Parks & Rec is painting the building at Pine Lake now.  They’ve got a perfect day for it, and one of their trucks was pulled over by the building.

Teresa,

Camera looks good (hope no vandalism)  I will see if Dean can paint that in the next week. I will let you know. I have not used the graffiti block. Interested to see if it

works well.

Hi Ron,

The Conservation Commission is planning to purchase two high-end deer cams at the Pine Lake Bridge, one on either end of the bridge, facing each other.  They’ll vote on it Wednesday, but based on the comments I’ve rec’d so far it seems like they really want to do this. Here’s the camera they’ll likely choose, with examples of the type of pictures it takes in the day and at night: http://www.trailcampro.com/reconyxrc60horeview.aspx.

I removed the graffiti from the railings and granite post, and sealed both.  Any chance on you guys being able to paint the red building down below the bridge that is covered with graffiti, depending on the weather?  I think it would be easier than trying to remove the graffiti.  If it’s not done soon it will have to wait until the spring, and the vandals will be rewarded with their art work being on display for much of the school year. If not, I might try to do it myself if you don’t object.

For the long term, Conservation was talking about coating everything with a clear graffiti block.  There seem to be a couple different versions on the market.  Do you have any experience with these?  Supposedly the clear coat keeps the graffiti from adhering very well, and the graffiti is then easy to remove.

Teresa

The gatehouse at Pine Lake is all painted now.  The only graffiti left is on the abutments.  I didn’t ask Parks & Rec to do anything about that since it was right above the water – a sensitive location.
