A couple of SPOWs (Santa Pearls of Wisdom)

1.  A child skipping out of the barn saying "Santa knew me!  He KNEW me!".  Always pay attention and listen in case a child's name is said off in the distance.  Greeting a child by name with no prompting can be amazing.

2.  A young adult (perhaps 20s) after taking a family group photo, turned around and said "I've had a really tough year.  Thank you Santa" - and gave me a hug.  Reality is you never know what someone might be going through, and a simple listening ear and a hug can mean a lot.

3.  There were less babies crying on Santas lap as a percentage of those visiting (Seriously - my elf keeps detailed records to keep her busy during the visits).  Also (and this is true from research) - the price of coal has dropped this year vs last year.  Conclusion: less crying children and less demand for coal might mean the world is a happier place than last year.

Merry Christmas everyone.  Looking forward to the new year.  We will be meeting in January after two months of cancellations.  It will be via zoom so we can screen share some drawings for an upcoming application, but I hope we cann each other IRL at the City Hall holiday party.
