Something to put on the radar: I rec’d a call last week from a resident who offered to buy an acre of open space next to their home. The reason she gave was a Connecticut bill that would allow homeless people to camp on public property, over-riding local regulations. She was under the impression that the bill was now a law and was quite concerned that they could have someone camping next to the brook outside their home. She wanted to leave the land as woods, not expand her lawn or anything, she just didn’t want anyone camping there. I looked up the bill and it seems that it was tabled for the season and not passed. She had heard about it from some news release or mailing from Jason Perillo. The bill does have a provision that if there are enough beds available for the homeless, then camping can be prohibited. I’m not sure how Shelton stands. https://www.cga.ct.gov/asp/CGABillStatus/cgabillstatus.asp?selBillType=Bill&bill_num=hb7033
