It appears to me that the City removed the debris at the weir, which has lowered the water level 2 feet. Last winter we walked on the ice and cut those bushes at the ice level. The lower water level is a problem for the lake as silt continues to fill it in, with grass growing in places in late summer.
Is it possible that the water cleared the debris in front of the weir by floating it over the top? Yes, but given the beaver dam removal, I am suspicious. We should check public works and P & R sources. Conservation should be consulted/notified when activity like this impacts Open Space.
