http://earth-info.nga.mil/ and downloaded the Indonesia file. It's
about 18 MB uncompressed and has a lot of latitude/longitude data,
which could be used for KML. I was able to pull the text file into
MySQL, and have been querying it.
Does anyone have any hints about how to narrow it down? I'm taking it
that we want villages in Java, where the quake hit, not all of
Indonesia. I'll take a look at the wiki and see if anything jumps out
at me.

BTW, I'm attaching a gif since the wiki won't let me upload images.
It shows where the Dr. Sardjito hospital is in Yogyakarta.

Guess the next step is to find or write a script to turn this
into KML - maybe Perl would be a good way to go.

The specific links are

http://leep.lis.uiuc.edu/publish/wedwards/yogyakarta.xls (Yogyakarta)
Are we coordinating with other relief agencies? Do they have any input
on what would be most useful to them?
