Hi Anand
Thanks a lot for update, I was not sure what was happening there
Great to know that you are working on an automatic 'create new
location' functionality, thats great to know So that we do not
need to write new code each time a new location springs up
:-) shelterfinder is going to be ready to take in data.
Whos is Silvi? Please make sure that we get all the
instructions from you before you swithc off, and let us know if you
need anything from you.
Let me ask Ka ping about the wiki
I dont know how to access nor write to/modify the shelterfinder homepage
maybe we should have a set of instructions for that too
also the wiki does not seem to be linked fromthe home page, unless that
has already been done - it might be good that there is a linke there
saying 'wiki'
let me know if there is anything you need from us
Thanks a lot

Dear Wendy, Mikel, Paola,
Sorry about being offline - had other things to do. Am still not
back home, but am working on this over the next few hours, and will
post up the revised code so others can start working on it too.
Don't want to bottleneck, but I need to fix stuff I've broken first!
Thats map is very interesting Martin - I've never seen geo-rss in
action before. We'll definately need to set up a feed. Wendy,
you're right about keyholing, and we need to set up a feed that takes
the window boundaries and selects relevant points only, and also
strips that down to key ones geographically spread out when there are
too many in a view.
Wendy, thanks for the updated data. I've stripped it down to the
affected area, and am reconciling it with what I've got already,
matching up administrative areas. Its not great quality but will be
good enough, and I don't think we need any more 'big' data for now -
lets concentrate on finding data about key locations only.
I've stripping out the old shelter data from ShelterFinder on the US
and archiving it. Was getting in the way, although the system should
eventually handle several disasters at a time.
Ka-Ping Yee set up the Wiki for us late last year, and should be able
to sort out uploads for you - I'm not very knowledgeable about the
server. (pi...@zesty.ca)
I kicked off a Google Earth thread a few days ago, and Silvi has just
added some handy links to it to a site collecting sat maps and other
data about shelter locations.

Yes, simple location creation is key, Paola, and I'm nearly there.
Wendy, if you can work some of the current feeds we have into a
GEO-RSS feed, that would be great. I can send you the code we have,
but do you have access to a local PHP/MySQL test server? Probably
quicker and safer to test offline.
The site passwords are still the same as were circulated before - let
me know if you need them again.
