Shelter Workshop 8th december!

Dear Shelter supporters

Today the shelter cluster has agreed with NHA, HUDCC and DSWD on the organization of a cross government - private sector emergency and transitional Shelter Workshop.

Date: Tuesday 8th of December from 9.00 - 16.30

Venue: NHA Main Office, Elyptical Circle, Quezon City.

The DRAFT objective of the workshop will be 

a.  Established closer linkage with key players on shelter (emergency, transitional, permanent)

b.  Better understanding of the roles, responsibilities of key agencies, INGO’s, NGO’s other stakeholders

c.  Exchanged information on shelter related topics as: current policies, guidelines, initiatives, best practices, current issues

d.  Identified information gaps

e.  Identified key issues and constraints and recommendations.

A series of actors will be asked to contribute to the workshop with a short presentation. There will also be plenty of opportunity for discussion and information sharing.

Some subjects will be

- HUDCC/NHA (Shelter Coordination, Policies, Relocation Status , Constraints)

- Local Government Response/ constraints

- Emergency and Transitional Shelter Strategy

- Best practices: Repair Kits, Shelter Kits and Transitional Shelter

- Private / Public Sector Partnership on Shelter

- Beneficiary consultation / Protection in shelter programs

The final program and formal invitation will be sent you later this week.
