Hello,
Good news! One of our preferred dates is penciled in with the Nile folks, and that's Sunday, October 13th.
I finally figured out how to get onto Google Groups for this account. Michele Wells had requested to be removed from the group and I believe I did that successfully.
I've been able to check off many of the tasks I agreed to tackle at the last meeting, but one thing I still need to do is make an appointment with Melinda for picking up the auction stuff and taking it to storage. It would go a lot faster if I had one person to help me. If you're interested let me know. If Melinda is agreeable it will happen next weekend.
Reminder that there's one more Homeless Survival Road Show forum, and that's at People's Institutional Baptist Church, 159-24th Ave., Seattle, at 6:30 PM Tuesday, April 16th. The folks from SHARE, WHEEL, Nickelsville, and Safe Car Campers have been doing a fantastic job.
If you're available in the morning on April 24th supporters are needed at 7:30 AM in Seattle at 7th and Cherry and walk to the meeting of the Committee to End Homelessness Governing Board to let them know you support tent cities, safe zones and facilities for car campers, and no net loss of winter shelters, which are scheduled to close by the end of next month. I was floored to learn that the One Night Count found 878 people sleeping in their cars.
According to my calendar we're scheduled to meet on Tuesday, April 30th, at Woodland Park United Methodist Church. See you then, if not sooner!
Peggy
