Hi All
A few updates:
The children of Mary Shellacres and William Walter who married in Lyndon
Rutland on 13th May 1706:
- 26th Sept 1708 - Mary & Elizabeth the daughters of William Walter and Mary
his wife baptised. (Twins? or they were just baptised on the same day)
- 13th Aug 1713 - William the son of William and Mary Walter baptised.
Mary's son William Walter the Younger married Sarah Bull April 2nd 1738 in
Lyndon.
And they had a son William, who was baptised on January 11th 1742 but he was
buried the next month on Feb 6th 1742. (Mary's Grandson).
But they had another son, again named William baptised on Dec 25th. 1744 and
Thomas baptised Jan 2nd 1745. Maybe William & Thomas were twins but William
needed to be baptised urgently so his baptism was the week before. (Mary's
Grandsons)
William Walter senior was buried July 23rd 1741 (Mary Shellacres' husband).
No record of Mary Shelacres' death.
--------------------
The wife of Richard Shelaker of Loddington (born c.1616) right at the top of
the tree was not 'Jane' - it is 'Joan'!
I recently read that in Elizabeth times (and this is just after that period)
half the women in England were named either 'Mary', 'Elizabeth', 'Agnes',
'Joan' or 'Margaret'. So I looked again at the 1646 record and the name is
clearly 'Joan'.
----------------------------
The Elizabeth Shelacres who was born in 1684 was baptised in December, maybe
the 29th but definitely December.
