I don't have an account on ancestry.com myself but I notice that a general Shellaker search currently pulls up this person of whom someone has uploaded a splendid photograph:

Ivy Adelaide Shellaker  b. 1902 Islington
  m. William E. Shaul 1928
  d. 1986

Presumably she is a distant cousin of some sort - does anyone know any details?

Yes, it is a lovely picture. Ivy is a daughter of Walter Joseph Shellaker, of Holborn, who is a descendant of Francis Shellaker (1791) of Oakham, who moved to London by 1830. I've been thoroughly confused by these London Shellakers, they seem to have got lost there.

The photo was placed by Peter Paterson, of New Zealand, who is related to William Shaul through his mother Ada Byrd. Ivy is the only Shellaker in his tree.

If you like I'll ask Peter how he got the photo and see if he has any other information, such as whether they had children, there are no Shaul/Shellaker children in the register.

Do you mean Francis *1799*?  Or were there two Francises in Oakham around the same time?

Is this the Francis who married Ann Cranham in Westminster in 1830?
(And who had a son by the same name the following year?)

That would be splendid - most appreciated if you would.

Colin:

Yes that is the one, I probably need to get some bifocals.

As you are probably aware Ann Cranham abandoned Francis in the workhouse and shacked up with a chap called Jones. She married Jones 5 June 1853, six months before Francis died, and they had at least three children. Francis Jr. went to stay with his uncle. His sister Charlotte may have been adopted, having been registered as a daughter of uncle Thomas and his wife Ann Dyer or Dyde. It is this Thomas who presents many anomalies, and insight into these will be most welcome. If you like I will start another thread here inviting comment.
Francis married Sarah Eliza Crouch 28 March 1853 and they had a son Walter Joseph, born 18 October 1871. He married his first cousin Mary Elizabeth Ann Agass 24 December 1893 and Ivy was born Islington 30 September 1902.

Here is her 1911 census, she is with her brother, mother and stepfather, Walter having died in 1904:

Do you think that sister Charlotte is the one who married William Judd that same year?  (1853)

If you are referring to this one, I have her with her parents John and Frances in both 1841 and 1851, so that's unlikely.  But I'll take another look, just in case.

Peter Paterson has replied to my enquiry, He doesn't really add to what we know, it may be worth looking up some Shauls, it's not a common name.

Here's a link to his message:
