Hi all,

Will anyone be at the hackspace this evening? I need to make a long hole in a part so could do with using the drill press.

Hi,

I can't answer the first question, but last time I used the drill press
I measured the vertical travel as 55 mm, so I don't think you can make a
hole longer than that without trickery.

(I think you might be able to drill a blind hole to 55 mm, switch it
off, move the table up with the drill still in the hole, then drill
again BUT I don't know if this is a good idea!)

I can pop down to open up as need to use the drill press or mill myself, but I won’t be there until 8:30/9pm.

If that works for you let me know and I’ll pop down.
