This has proper stumped me...

I've got an old Delta printer I stuck a MKS SBASE (with DRV8825s (32x
microstep), Marlin 2.0.9.1) in and all of a sudden (it worked all
afternoon), all the motors now do not work. It'll preheat, I can turn
the fan on. But none of the motors work and immediately on homing it
comes up with homing failed. The weird thing is that when the power to
the board is off, it feels like the motors are enabled as they're really
stiff to turn, but all power is disconnected!

Anyone got any bright ideas? I've probably smegged something up in the
firmware!

Does that board have a separate power input for the motors and the heaters?

Hi James

Do they stay stiff if disconnected from drivers?  Short-circuited coils lead to stiffness.

Disclaimer - I know next to nothing about 3D printers.

Regards

Graham

Nop...

No, it has only 1 power input.

The motors were working fine until at some point I tried a G33 and everything went pair shaped!

Graham...

After disconnecting the motors from the driver, they do seem to move unrestricted.

That behaviour might indicate that the drivers are shorted, but TBH it might be normal for the device; it is hard to say how the protection (or possibly parasitic) diodes react to generated emf when the power rail is at 0V.

Looks like I fudged the EEPROM / Firmware somehow.

I started over, only changing the basics. Did M502, M500, now everything works again.

Honestly do not know why!

PS - I now cannot get it to do a Delta Calibration. Nor print! Think this thing is destined for the bin!
