Hi all,

Just wondering if there might be a list of in-progress and future libraries that will/might be supported by shedskin? This could also include libraries that there is interest in supporting, but that currently no one is working on -- so both a to-do list as well as a list of things that people can join in on.

Also, is there any plan to support 'thread' and 'threading'?

Thanks!

sorry for the late reply.

if by 'libraries' you mean other libraries than core python modules, there's not much chance they will be supported directly in any form. as for the core modules, please see the documentation wiki for a list of currently supported modules. I also don't see this list growing by very much..

please note that it is possible in many cases to import a shedskin-compiled extension module in unrestricted python code (which may import arbitrary python libaries..).

I'm afraid there are also no plans to look into supporting threads. I'm personally a big fan of process-based paralellism, and on several occasions I've used a shedskin-compiled extension module together with the multiprocessing library (as described above, see shedskin/examples). of course I acknowledge the fact that sometimes you really do want to have real threads..

cheers,
mark.
