some of you may have been wondering why I haven't been as active in shedskin development over the past year as before.
one reason is that I consider it finished in a way. I'm satisfied with the current state of the type inference engine, and perfectly happy with the current set of limitations. so while I'm happy to maintain the current version (bugfixes, integrate patches, help out), I don't think I will personally initiate a major improvement anymore. I can easily be triggered with issues, interesting programs or proof-of-concept patches though I guess.
the other main reason is that I've been building a 3d printer (two actually) over the past year, and making nice things with it.. :-) if anyone is interested, this is my current "masterpiece", a working commodore/atari/etc joystick:
