Discus CS Rudder pedal adjustment handle interference

With rudder pedals adjusted towards the front, there is enough slack in the cable for the handle to drop between stick and seat pan. It limits about half of the stbd. movement of the stick and normal control check identifies the problem. I keep the handle under the seat cushion to prevent this and always check before flight, but would like to eliminate the "gotcha." I have a couple of ideas but would like to know if any other B/CS owners have seen and corrected this.
