Ok, next makespace/hackspace meetup:

Logistics:

Thur 1st July

7.30pm @ Eagle pub

Agenda:

* talk about (show off) projects you are working on/planning

* discuss making permanent hackspace for Cambridge

* meet cool like-minded people

* have some beer, food

please pass this on to anyone interested! Please also shout if you are
coming so we can gauge numbers, and if you are interested but can't
make it to gauge overall interest in a Cambridge hackspace.

Thanks,

Simon

I should be there too if I haven't double-booked anything. Looking forward to it.  (Does the "bring cake to your first meeting" rule apply to pubs as well?)

Guys,

I don't think I'm going to be able to make it on Thursday, but count
me in for a permanent Cambridge hackerspace.

I've done at little more work on my UAV thing, still lots to do
though. www.outsider-uav.blogspot.com if you're interested.

Could someone post minutes of what is discussed and decided on Thursday?

Cheers,

Sorry I am double-booked. Damn.

Keen to have a permanent meeting space/dual-use or better.

I'm sure I can make it along on the 1st.

I don't have a project to show off, really. Everything I do is
software these days and even then I've left work-life run away with me
so haven't made any project time.

(Love the UAV project, btw!)

Cake is not required for this meeting :) Just enthusiasm. But cake can
provide a sugar rush, and that is almost the same.

See you thursday!

Is the Eagle still on tonight?
Assuming there are other bipeds in the pub, how will I recognise
y'all?

I'm going. Look out for a bright red t-shirt and an EeePC with hazard tape on it.

Thanks.
Turns out I'll only be able to turn up, meet & greet before leaving as
I'm not very good with dates... or knowing what day it is.

What OS are you running on your EeePC?

Ubuntu 10.04, the original Xandros or Chromium depending on the day of the week.

I should say that I won't know anyone else going, so if anyone else is coming and can find some way of identifying themselves that would be useful.

I'll try and bring my Galaxy Black EeePC, although I suspect the
battery isn't charged.

There can't be too many EeePCs in the Eagle so that should narrow it
down.

"There can't be too many EeePCs in the Eagle" ... at this rate, maybe :P

I don't have an Eee (yet), in the unlikely event I'm there first look out for a black Vespa bag.

Just had a good interview about our proposal for a "makespace" in
Cambridge, with some excellent actions put on us to determine demand.

Looking forward to brainstorming with you all! Please remind anyone
else you think might be interested; the more the better to understand
what coul work.
