Hiya, Sorry my first post is a job advert and not anything interesting
that I have built. My experience with this sort of thing comes from
the other end of the simulation development.
Many moons ago I wrote HDI 32 for Hitachi and my boss wrote the IAR
compiler for ARM. But as far as actually coding these things, I am
lost :)

Anyhows, I now have my own software company and I have a contract
coming up for a microcontroller programmer.

The funding is there and the initial plans are now complete but I need
to get someone on board who can bring the embedded coding and
development skills to the table.

I am currently completing a phase 1 which takes inputs through a TRU-
TEST XR-3000 Reader and feeds into an RS 232 port into a laptop. My
part is nearing completion and there are 2 other phases which are
beyond my skill set (microcontrollers and motors).

I have an initial spec written up and need someone to take a look and
give a quote and timescale on completing it.
I believe the quote will come in 3 parts

- Time to design / test / research phase2 and select equipment.
- Time to implement phase 2
- Time to implement phase 3 (it is an extension / add on for phase 2's
equipment)

Is there anyone who fancies a go and either has a window for a
contract coming up in the next couple of months, or anyone who is a
workaholic and wants to take on some extra curricular activities? ;)

I know it is hard to define a timescale for some of this as I have had
other people look at it and I believe they didnt want to commit to a
final quote which is why I need to work with you and present to the
final customer a minimum and maximum quote for certain areas of it so
the final customer can understand what needs doing and would know the
final cost that they could expect if the job runs to the maximum time
estimate.

So yeah, If anyone is interested then give me a shout and I will send
on the spec for you to have a browse over.

Sorry I cant post it up here and make public for all, there is some
secrecy to this, and I need to keep the final customer separated until
I have NDAs signed and know who I am working with.

Cheers,

Lindsay.

Good to know that group activity is hitting a wider audience. I would
be tempted myself is I was working 4-day weeks :-)
Funny how almost all the engineers are actually back in jobs during
this recession, makes you wonder if the stone is just being squeezed
from the opposite side.

If you are interested I can get you in touch with some engineers who would be interested in such a task. I'll be happy to make the connections.

Hey Lindsay,
Not sure if you're looking for a company to do the work but I'm at
Cambridge Design Partnership and we may be able to help if you drop us
an email with all the info. Even if it's just a proposal it may help.

Regards,
Nick
