Hi everyone! Next up...LABBITS!!! I hope you will all be able to make it out to
Rivet in May to see
"DOWN THE BUNNY HOLE", a very unique exhibit curated by
Vinyl Requiem. All of the artists were given a 10" Labbit (a vinyl toy sort of shaped like a rabbit) to cut up, paint on, add to, WHATEVER! Some very well-known artists are included in this show too, including the designer of the Labbit figure himself,
Frank Kozik! SO EXCITING! I can't wait to show everyone
my Labbit!!! Please try to come to the opening reception on Saturday, May 3rd from 7-10ish during Gallery Hop! Rivet throws an
AMAZING party!
Also in May (May 17th from 1-7) Junctionview Studios is hosting
"Bike + Art = Show". I'll be showing something, not sure what yet, alongside my art mom
homeslices. It should be tons of fun!
The store... If you haven't been to the store lately, you haven't seen my latest obsession,
Unlucky Yuckies. They're pretty cheap and kinda cute, and they've been a wonderful way to slooooowwww down and do something a little meditative. If anyone wants to learn to crochet, let me know, and I'll totally try to teach you. You'll LOVE it!!! Also, just got back today from
Open Door Art Studio in Grandview. They will now ALSO be selling Unlucky Yuckies as well as packs of cards. If you've never been there, it's LOADED with awesome stuff!
The contest... The winner of the last edition's contest was Amy F. who was the first to guess "Lane Smith". Good job! The prize for THIS contest is a set of little bug cards with the artwork taken from the last edition's prize painting. You can see 'em
HERE.
Okay, the question...
The following is a list of directors of films featuring D.C. Comics characters. James McTeigue, Christopher Nolan, Tim Burton, Francis Lawrence, Stephen Norrington. Which two people directed films featuring the same D.C. character(s)? Too easy!
Lastly, I know what you're doing NEXT Saturday, but if you're still looking for something to do THIS Saturday (from 6-10pm @ Christ Anglican Church on 43 West 4th Ave.), come hear some nice music and give to a great cause ($7 suggested donation at the door). Some friends or ours are adopting two little girls from Liberia and it's wicked expensive. Musical acts include (I believe all lean toward to the "folk" end of the spectrum): Wing/Tusk, Mike Wojniak, Abbey in the Oaks, Stealing Bismarck, Hal Hixson and Blake Skidmore. There will also be snacks and a silent auction! Be sure to order a t-shirt too. You might recognize the artwork!
THANKS!!!
