Dear Committee members
There has been a subgroup of the fields committee working over the summer with the goal of getting work done this fall on the Middle School Field. Jory Zunenshine will be meeting with the School Committee next week to get approval to start work on the Middle School field. The goal was to pay for all the work which amounts to approximately $18,000 with outside funds so the work could commence in the next few weeks. The Town would be doing most of the actual seeding and fertilizing. Important was the fact the group worked to shift any use of the field this fall to other fields in town allowing the work to commence and the renovation and revitalization to commence undisturbed.
I am writing today for your help. Jory and the subgroup has raised $10,000 of the $18,000 needed to get this done. I know he has contacted a number of you looking for assistance. If we want to eventually complete the entire fields program we have been discussing this is an important step in doing so. I also note for you that this is a deep discount to what we were projecting and will allow us to reallocate funds to other fields based on the request scheduled to be made at a January Town Meeting.
Please see what you can do to help Jory and the subgroup close the gap. Please discuss with your groups the need. Every little will help. We need to do this all together or nothing will get accomplished and we will need to live with the status quo.
