Hi everyone!
I'm both super-excited and super petrified to announce that this
letter marks the start of tech week for Share.tv. Please excuse any
typos in this message: the heat is out in my apartment and my fingers
are frozen and clumsy!
1) Here's a contact sheet for the crew. Please review it, and make
sure all the information is accurate (feel free to make any changes).
It's parked on the group's site, so you can refer to it whenever
needed:

2) About audio: CCTV has an 8-input audio snake. I don't foresee
needing more channels for the broadcast, but a submixer might be a
good thing to bring in if we get strapped. (Maybe I'll bring in one.)
3) About video: We'll be using 2 cameras to film the action in the
studio. They feed directly into the control room.
They'll also be up to 3 projectors in use: 2 Mitsubishi HC1500 DLP
1600 Lumens projectors, and 1 Sony VPL-CX1 LCD projector. I would
like these to feed into a separate video mixer in the studio so it can
be mixed "on the floor", and have that feed into the control room. I
know a few of you have your own video mixers. The studio's technician
says that if they're BNC, they can be patched into the switcher in the
control room. We should test the mixer out beforehand. (Natch.)
Video is by no means my strong suit: let me know if what I envision
cannot be done!
4) "Orientation". Please let me know if you are free either Friday
or Saturday, in the early evening. We'll meet up, look at the studio,
and if you're up for it, have a pint across the street to introduce
ourselves.
Looking forward to working with you all! Please reply with your
questions/ideas/suggestions.
See you soon!!!
