Automatically send an email based on form selection

Hi,
I am new to Sharepoint Designer. I have a form, and one of the fields
is a drop down box with a list of names. Is it possible to
automatically send an email to the person whose name is selected in
that drop down box after the form is submitted? Can someone explain
the process that is necassary to accomplish this? Thanks!
