I just rewrote some of the auth code for sharebro.org. It works for me
but before I remove the "We are currently experimenting with
authorization" message I'd like someone else to verify.

If you have a minute, can you please go to sharebro.org/sharebros
(which should require auth) in both signed-in and signed-out state?
And if anything odd happens, please let me know.

Thanks -

- Alex

going in signed out it showed Google Reader twice: http://screencast.com/t/f3NJK2YcgH
Then, I granted permission and it loaded fine.

going in signed in was fine

Is the subscribe in reader button supposed to look ike this? http://screencast.com/t/7O7FKEHNpG

Yeah, that's Google being silly. I need to sign up for two "scopes" --
http://www.google.com/reader/atom and
http://www.google.com/reader/api
-- and so "Google Reader" shows up twice in their oauth interface.

I think it's cause I'm using OAuth 1.0 and their OAuth 2.0 interface is cooler.

ah I was actually wondering about that. Any reason for using 1 over 2?

/atom is to fetch any actual feed you may be trying to share an item from

/api is for all the rest

No good reason :-)

The ruby gem named 'oauth' apparently only supports oauth1. It works for now so I haven't looked for an alternative.

gotcha.

The way the Plus api oauth is worded it looks like its only oauth2 or api key, but I haven't tried oauth1 with it.

Had gone that way just in case
