"Send To Sharebro" experiment

up for sharebro is to come to the sharebro.org site and sign in via
oauth. Userscripts/extensions/plugins can give much more power and
beauty and usability but I think they'll be scary and/or confusing
enough that many people simply won't use them.
So I've been looking into the "Send To" feature of Google Reader.
(I've been assured it won't be disappeared too :-))
It sends up a few pieces of information, including the href of the
original item in the feed. I can then use the "feed-finder" API call
to get the href of the full feed, then use *another* API call to get
the feed as Google-processed Atom XML. From there I can find the item
whose href we got during the first send_to call (so many calls ago).
And then finally, from there, I can get all the information I might
need to add it to a "real" feed.
Since the atom was generated by Google I also get the item's google id
(which has two forms, btw) and so I can either tag it "broadcast"
(old-style share) or "shared items" (ridllr-style share) or star it or
whatever, all from the server side. Or add it (with its full contents,
which I just got from Atom) to a proper, non-Google-hosted feed, or
add a link to it to an activity stream or to twitter.
I will now walk the dog, get some dinner, and then see if I can make a
functional "Send To Sharebro" link magically appear in everyone's
Reader.
(I think it should not be called "Send to Sharebros" since your bros
really won't be receiving it unless they look for it...)
