Einstein's Puzzle

[shantanu dubey]

This is regarded as one of the toughest puzzles ever. It was created by Einstein who claimed that only 2% of people could solve this.

 

Do let me know if you're able to solve this...

 

Neighbor’s Puzzle
five people of different nationality live in a row of five houses of different color. Each person prefers a different beverage, smokes a different brand of cigar and keeps a different kind of animal. Can you figure out who owns the fish? 

The Brit lives in the Red house. 
The Swede keeps dogs as pets. 
The Dane drinks tea. 
The Green house is on the left of the White house. 
The owner of the Green house drinks coffee. 
The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds. 
The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill. 
The man living in the center house drinks milk. 
The Norwegian lives in the first house. 
The man who smokes Blends lives next to the man who keeps cats. 
The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill. 
The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer. 
The German smokes Prince. 
The Norwegian lives next to the Blue house. 
The man who smokes Blends has a neighbours who drinks water. 

Who owns the fish?

Nobody owns the fish as the data does not mention any of the 5 chaps owning fish.

My initial guess says that there is no unique solution and possibly may have multiple solutions.

Guys, even i am failed to solve it.. seems data is not sufficient.

The solution that the german owns the fish is available on googling and is based upon the assumption that the fifth person whose data has not been given is owning a fish. Given the fact that the data is insufficient , solving this puzzle is like milking an OX. Concrete solutions are based  on facts and not assumptions.hope u all agree.

Shantanu,, its a gud puzzle.. 

 It is not based on assumptions neither insufficient data .. it can be solved.
 I took 15 min to solve this.. any body can solve if concentrate statements for 10 min.

This puzzle is indeed solvable. I took 27 minutes precisely to solve
this using heuristic approach

I made only one heuristic choice and that paid off, as i found the
solution using that choice
My choice was that the FOURTH HOUSE SHOULD BE GREEN.
(There were only two choices Either the First house or the fourth
should be green. As the second house is blue, Third house drinks milk
and fifth house can't be green because of the condition)
