At the outset, a very Happy New Year to all of you! May you enjoy every minute of the year more than what you have done in the recent past
2010 saw the parting of the ways by Rajnarayan and Balu Venkataraman. May their souls rest in peace!!!
The year gone by has seen a plethora of events , covering a wide spectrum of human successes and failures, strengths and weaknesses,
less of charity and more of corruption. Mario Puzo has enough India based material to write a book titled "GodMother"
May the year to come see and give us to see more of the better!
It has been an eventful year for SHARAN too. The Annual General meeting, the preparation of the bye-laws, the registration of SHARAN and so many programmes organized by Sethuretnam and team.
The process of the preparation is by far a more wonderful experience than the final award in itself.
This is what I had learnt from my student days when preparing a thesis for dissertation or for submission towards a degree
And I did feel so, during the back and forth and the deliberations that eventually led to the bye-laws fo SHARAN
That reminds of our own back and forth between Chennai and Bangalore. Pressurizing and hectic, yes, but quite fulfilling
The days to come will see less of back and forth with more of my time away from Chennai
2011 might be the year in which the first elections in SHARAN will be held. I am sure that the process will be a breeze,
what with the wonderful membership that we have
Which brings me to membership and attendance.
The stimulus given in 2010 by the programme managers has produced a consistent response from a segment of the membership in SHARAN
Programmes in 2011 should move further to get a better degree of participation from the members on roll
The process of increasing members needs to be accelerated. Some more variety needs to be injected,
lest the law of diminishing returns comes into play.
And finally to each and everyone of you, lady and gent, Radha and I offer a gentle prayer to the Almighty to make every moment of 2011 healthy peaceful and prosperous
