Hi everyone,

yesterday suddenly the hotend temperature went down and the heater
stopped working in the middle of a print.
I have checked the voltage on the hotend side and it is 12 volts as
expected, but nothing happens.

Did something break inside the heater element?
Is there a fix or does this mean I have to buy a whole new unit?

Regards,

Danny

Got myself some fire cement and removed the old cement.
ones i had unwired the nichrome coil a bit it started to function
again.
It must have been shorting out at the beginning of the coil or
something.
Hope this fix works when i have the cement on again, else I have to
recoil it,so buy some nichrome cable.

If I need to replace the nichrome cable on the heating element, how
long should it be to get the right resistance/heat?

regards,

Danny

One important thing about the wire is that it cannot be solderded
The extentionwire is pressed together with the heater wire in a sort
of bushing.
If have seen in the past that it is possible that electrical
connection is not
always 100%, causing malfunction in heating.
