Slic3r 7.2 and other editions problems.

Skeinforge works but I wanted to get up to speed with Slic3r. First
layer looks good but other layers are just junk.

I am not sure which G code flavor to use. I have tried all but "no
extrusion"

I have same problem on Slic3r 5 as well.

I have printed plenty of items on Pronterface successfully

I have the metal gear extruder. I asume I have the correct firmware
(I installed the metal gear extruder firmware in December) but I am
not sure how to check.

Any suggestions would help
