[5月22日周日] Global Shim Sham – Celebrating Frankie’s Birthday (May 26, 1914)
“摇摆舞大使”Frankie Manning 在2009年于95岁生日之前一个月不幸因病去世，原本为其庆生的盛大活动Frankie95并未因此取消或改期。在纽约举行为期五天的活动，来自22个国家、超过5000名舞者参与、18个乐团现场演奏、15个团体表演以Frankie热爱的摇摆舞、摇摆乐悼念这位摇摆舞者。整个活动由庆祝他的95岁生日，扩大为庆祝Frankie 丰富、精彩的一生。不能到场的舞者，则以录制Frankie版Shim Sham来为他庆祝，摇摆上海也没有缺席。（点击看看有哪些国家、社团参与）
5月26日是Frankie 的冥诞，响应全球其他摇摆舞社团以Shim Sham为Frankie庆生的活动，摇摆上海也将在5月22日的日落摇摆跳Shim Sham，希望大家都能来参加！（已列名在yehoodi.com咯！）到时候会将我们的Shim Sham录制上传到YouTube的活动指定位置，作为活动的记录。
日落摇摆5点开始、Shim Sham 6点举行。请提前到，好趁光线最好的时候进行。
着装准则：摇摆上海的成员来自世界许多不同的地方，这是我们的特色。请着能代表您来自地方/国家的服装、或者以明显的图案、符号表达。上海本地的舞者可选择穿摇摆上海的T 恤衫，或者发挥您的创意展现本地特色。

》表演：独舞、双人、群舞都欢迎。不需要太严肃、太正确，好玩比较更重要。整晚最多能容纳3段表演。无论你是不是有现成的想法，或者必须开始准备，先来信shangha...@gmail.com 告知你的表演“主题”。
时间不多，正好两周。现在就开始准备服装、构想表演，才来的及哦！
[May 22, Sunday] Global Shim Sham – Celebrating Frankie’s Birthday (May 26, 1914)
“The Ambassador of Swing” Frankie Manning passed away in April, 2009, one month before his birthday. An international event which was organized to celebrate Frankie’s 95th birthday didn’t stop. It only expanded to celebrate Frankie’s lifelong dedication and enthusiasm in swing dancing with over 5000 dancers from 22 countries, 18 bands, 15 performance groups’ participation. This 5-day event, Frankie95 , was held in New York City, New York. Dancers around the world who couldn’t participate the event in New York City, danced and recorded Frankie’s Shim Sham to celebrate his life. Shanghai Swings was one of the communities submitted the video. (Click to see what other communities/countries were in it.)
May 26th is Frankie’s birthday again. Swing communities around the world are all going to Shim Sham for Frankie. Shanghai Swings will be Shim Shamming on May 22nd Sunset Swing and hope everyone can come to the dance! (We are listed in yehoodi.com.) We will Shim Sham and record our dance for uploading to Youtube to join the other communities’ Shim Sham!
Sunset Swings starts from 5pm、Shim Sham starts at 6pm. Please show up on time so that we can catch the best sunlight for videotaping.
Dress Code: Shanghai Swings is an “international” community. Please dress to represent where you come from. It can be your country’s traditional dress or with marks/words/graphics to tell people your origin. Shanghai dancers – Shanghai Swings T-shirts or … surprise us with your creativity!

We need volunteers and volunteering programs：
》volunteer to teach a short lesson to the absolute beginners
》performance：solo dance, couple dance, group dance… . Fun and Happy. No stress. We are estimated to have maximum 3 sections of performance throughout the night. Please email shangha...@gmail.com if you have something to show.. or show off. J
You have exactly two weeks to get ready! Start to think about what you want to wear and what you want to do with the performance!
