Hello fellow GCCers!
I know many of you have studied in the states or intend to, so I wanted to let you know that if you are celebrating Halloween, you are welcome to join me in partying for a good cause; local charity BEAN Shanghai. If you have not ever checked BEAN out, it is a fantastic organization in which many Chinese and foreigners volunteer together around Shanghai at places like migrant schools, animal shelters, old peoples homes, disabled homes, and more.
So, BEAN is teaming up with Shanghaiist and 50% of proceeds will go to BEAN. The party is at Cargo JJ at 1123 Yanan Lu and is all you can drink for 100 RMB! Starts around 10!
Hope to see some fellow GCCers there! Forward on to your friends and bring anyone you like!
Costumes encouraged but optional!
Best,
Eoin

Dear Eoin,
We've got good news and bad news:
The good news is that our Halloween Party just got cheaper: 100 kuai per person now for all-you-can drink at Cargo JJ (150 if you come after 11:30pm). Every other Halloween party in town is 100 RMB just for entrance- ours includes entrance AND all your booze! And you can feel good while you party because half the proceeds go to BEAN charitable projects!
The bad news is simply that the meeting point has changed, which is why we're sending this out: we don't want to confuse our loyal and party-loving members. There won't be a parade because we don't want anyone to think we're going to occupy anything.
All event details are here: http://shanghai.beanonline.org/events/1474/halloween_party_for_charity_%E4%B8%87%E5%9C%A3%E8%8A%82%E6%85%88%E5_10_28_2011. Cargo JJ has a pumpkin the size of the Pearl Tower hanging out front- you can't miss it!
See you there!
