Russia Launches Combat Robots to Fight Abrams and Leopard Tanks

Russia launched the Abrams and Leopard 2 tank destroyer robot as Moscow’s response to the decision of the United States and European countries to send Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
The former director general of the Russian federal space agency Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, said that the Russian-made Marker robot is capable of hitting US-made Abrams tanks and German-made Leopard tanks.
Rogozin explained that the Marker has a target catalog in the visible and infrared light spectrum, and the system will help the Marker to automatically detect enemy military hardware.
“For example, as soon as deliveries of Abrams and Leopard tanks to Ukrainian forces begin, the Marker will be equipped with an electronic image suitable for detecting and destroying US and German tanks with anti-tank guided missiles.
Markers, according to him, can also prioritize enemy targets while at the forefront.
The former head of Roscosmos said four Marker robots would be delivered to the Donbass region in February. He hopes the Marker can operate soon after going through a series of trials.
Rogozin’s statement came after German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced Berlin’s decision to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, which was followed by US President Joe Biden’s announcement that Washington would also send 31 Abrams tanks to Kiev.
The Russian Embassy in Germany warned that the dangerous (Berlin) decision could push the conflict in Ukraine to a new level of stalemate.
Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, also stated that the decision by the US and Western countries showed their direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. Moscow has repeatedly warned the US and its allies that sending military aid to Kyiv will prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) alliance were “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Kiev, and any military procession to Ukraine would become a target for Russia.
