A pleasure to announce Rabbi Jonathan Bernhard as the new Executive Director of Shamayim: Jewish Animal Advocacy! Jonathan served Adat Ari El, a large Conservative congregation in Los Angeles, for 25 years. Woven throughout his time there was his own personal and professional growth, first as a vegetarian, and then as a vegan. Jonathan brings a depth of experience and passion for animal welfare and veganism that will enable Shamayim to grow and educate Jewish leaders and communities as we seek to bring our sacred values into the world around us.
