Join K'Cholmim in our efforts to set up a new yishuv which will introduce many new and important elements to the settlement enterprise.

Among the ideas and elements we hope to introduce are:

1. Larger plots of land for yards - creating more privacy and comfort, as well as helping to settle land more quickly.
2. The ability to partake in farming - on either localized or large and commericial levels.

3. A mixed yishuv, with a Jewish population from a variety of ethnicities and religious levels.

4. A desire to create a living and vibrant community, not just a bedroom suburb.

5. A wish to settle and conquer the land of Israel and aid in her redemption and the retention of our holy sites and our country.

The Jews of Jewish Jericho
Today, Mevo'ot Yericho, is tiny but growing. Our forty residents have come from all over the world to make the desert bloom. We hail from Belgium, Germany, Russia, Persia, and Brooklyn. The native born among us come from the Golan, the Negev, Dimona and B'nei Brak! Every day now at this crucial period in our growth we expect more additions to our little community--both big and little.

Mevo'ot Yericho is also a working community. We help ourselves, we help each other, and we help the holy city of Jericho. To date, the Gates of Jericho community has built itself a small permanent synagogue, a study house, and an agricultural base. [Recent donations by supporters of K'Cholmim brought 50 new trees to our yishuv just a few months ago]. By pooling resources we have established a childcare pool, semi-public transportation, a kollel, a volunteer program, and many mini-parks. Every week, we host visitors to Jewish Jericho and two or three times a season we hold a large Shabbaton or festival celebration to educate the public about the ancient history of Jericho and Israel.

Jewish Jericho Needs Help
We have come as far as we can on our own. The Jewish community of Jericho needs help. Every day Palestinian Jericho builds towards us, cutting us off from the Al Na'aran Synagogue and blurring the boundaries between Palestinian Authority territory and its Jewish neighbors. If the Jewish community is to maintain its hold on Jericho, Mevo'ot Yericho (literally The Gates of Jericho) needs the help of the international Jewish community so that Jews of all nationalities can benefit from our struggle in years to come.
