What would the American government do if almost 20 percent of its 275
million people rejected, in principle, the Declaration of Independence and
the Constitution, were not satisfied with the peaceful exercise of their
religion, and were intent upon revolutionizing the government itself and
reconstituting it on Islamic lines?
Today there are only six million Moslems in America. But suppose there were
50 million. This would correspond, proportionately, to the demographic
situation in Israel, where almost 20 percent of the country's 6.2 million
inhabitants are Arabs.
Judging from the statements of Arab Knesset members, who, in violation of
the law, reject the Jewish character of the State, it is safe to assume that
close to one million Arab citizens of Israel regard themselves as
"Palestinians" and identify with the great "Arab Nation" (which is why they
are exempt from military service).
That Israel harbors a fifth column consisting of one million inherently
disloyal Arab citizens is not an academic matter. Israeli Arabs, in
addition to belonging to terrorist cells, annually commit hundreds of
politically motivated assaults including stabbings, shootings, arson, and
sabotage.
But to better appreciate Israel's "Arab problem," let us return to the U.S.
and its 275 million Americans with its hypothetical 50 million Moslems.
This means that 50 million U.S. inhabitants adhere to a religion or culture
which, as a matter of 1,300 years of history, rejects the secular democratic
state. Yet those 50 million Moslems would enjoy full American citizenship,
including equal political rights. Surely this would give most Americans
cause for concern, to put it mildly.
Another way to appreciate Israel's "Arab problem" is as follows. Islam
being a militant creed, how might the "activists" among our 50 million
hypothetical Moslems reacted to the U.S.-led bombing of Iraq during and
since the Persian Gulf War? The Moslem bombing of the World Trade Center
suggests that terrorist attacks against non-Moslem Americans would be
comparable in number and kind to those committed by Arabs against Jews in
Israel.
On the other hand, given 50 million Moslem citizens in the U.S., would an
American president have resorted to bombing Iraq in the first place,
especially if he were up for re-election? Let us expand on this scenario.
Given 50 million Moslems in America, what might a U.S. government do to
Moslem "activists" who incite their brethren not only to stone, knife, or
kill non-Moslem Americans, but to commit acts of sabotage, arson, and
insurrection? Would the government act with the self-restraint Washington
expects and often demands of Israel?
But even this fails to illustrate the magnitude of Israel's "Arab problem,"
to say nothing of the inability of so many sheltered American pundits and
policy-makers to appreciate its awesome dimensions.
Let us consider only two of Israel's hostile neighbors, Syria, a military
dictatorship with a population of 17 million, and Egypt, another military
dictatorship with a population of 68 million. The combined total of these
85 million Arabs is about 18 times that of Israel's population of almost
five million Jews. Now suppose that democratic America, once again with 50
million Moslems, were bordered on the north and south, respectively, by an
Islamic and anti-democratic Canada and Mexico, whose combined population was
18 times that of America's non-Moslem population of 225 million. Which
means that Christian America would have more than FOUR BILLION Moslems on
its borders!
I wonder how liberal the U.S. government would be with its Moslem
"activists"? Perhaps it would try to deport them to Canada and Mexico.
(Recall that when America entered World War II, its government uprooted and
transferred 114,000 LAW-ABIDING Japanese Americans to "detention camps"!)
Now, given the demographic and geopolitical scenario outlined above, surely
there would be no Israel-bashers in the United States today - such as Thomas
Friedman of THE NEW YORK TIMES and his carbon copies on CNN. Indeed, with 50
million Moslem citizens, America, surrounded by despotic Arab-Islamic
regimes, would require, by enforceable legislation, loyalty oaths of all
citizens who wish to exercise their legal right to vote. Common sense and
patriotism would also prompt the U.S. Congress to expel Arab congressmen who
commit acts of disloyalty, such as consorting with America's hostile
neighbors or negating the right of the U.S. to exist as a sovereign state.
Let us return to Israel. Given the above American scenario, the Left in
Israel would evaporate, along with its suicidal "peace process." Moreover,
Jewish Knesset members would screw up their courage and expel Arab MKs who
violate the law prohibiting any party that negates the Jewish character of
the State!
Unfortunately, dear reader, the Knesset is dominated by cretins and cravens.
Such a Knesset will see very little of the 21st century.
