Does anyone on the Bridges list know the approximate
breakdown of North American (or U.S.) Jewry on the
lines of Ashkenazi - Mizrachi (Sephardic)?
It's for work we're doing in Israel to eliminate
prejudice along these lines.
Many thanks,
Gila Svirsky

P.S. "Mizrahi" (or "Mizrachi") refers to all Jews who originate
in Spain or in Muslim countries (North Africa or Asia), while
Sephardic was a more limited term, technically referring only
to Jews from Spain.

I feel left out in your definition of Sephardic Jews as only to Jews of
Spain...
What about Jews from Portugal? PLEASE! count us in also. Also all the
Jews that went to the former portuguese colonies are counted as
Sephardic, on account of their Portuguese origin.
