- Every Friday at Noon, there is an Iraq War vigil at the Capitol. This vigil is sponsored by GLNAWI (Greater Lansing Network Against War & Injustice)
- The Peace Education Center is hosting a musical event at Gone Wired Cafe on Monday, July 6th at 8 p.m. The socially and politically active band, Bad Heart Bull will be performing their politically-based "riot country" music and perhaps a radical puppet show! This is an all-ages event. To learn more, visit www.peaceedcenter.org
- Single-Payer Health Care Discussion: Question & Answer session on H.R. 676, a single-payer health care bill. Event is free from 7 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8th at Gone Wired Cafe (2012 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing). Call for more info - 517.862.0422
*** Global peace & justice events ***
The G8 Summit will be in Italy from Wednesday, July 8th until Friday, July 10th. Leaders from Italy, Canada, the U.S., Russia, France, the United Kingdom, Japan and Germany will come together once again to discuss pressing global matters. You can review the agenda items (such as climate change, development in Africa, and nuclear energy) then log to to www.whitehouse.gov to let President Obama know which issues are important to you.
