The same principles we've been using for years will continue in this group:

We're all friends here. Let's keep conversation positive and supportive.
If you want to skip a play, if you fall behind, if you read ahead, that's all okay. Make of this what you want and need it to be. If you don't want to read Edward III because it's not Shakespeare for sure, don't. If you can't stand one of the plays, skip it! No one is grading you.
I'd still like to avoid political conversations as much as possible. That's harder around the histories, I know. Thoughtful conversation is okay if it's done respectfully and actually relates to Shakespeare. But please know that, if you make a political jab—even if you think it's harmless—I will probably remove you from the group. Unfortunately, with the Google Group, my only recourse is to remove someone. I can't delete posts like I can on Facebook.
Obviously, abuse and spam are not acceptable. That should go without saying.
To start a new thread, you can open the group page (https://groups.google.com/g/shakespeare2020project) and click "New conversation," and that will send an email to everyone in the group. You can do the same by sending an email to shakespeare2020project@googlegroups.com. If you are trying to respond to a single member of the group and not the whole group, double check that only that person is in your email "to" and "cc" fields.
You can also choose to receive each email individually, or to receive a daily digest of emails. I may switch to the daily digest to keep things manageable.

I'll moderate and participate and send out some resources at the start of each month, but I'm hoping and trusting that we'll be led by group wisdom.
