Shakespeare Saturdays Salutes- “Step It Up for Gender Equality”

Saturday, February 11th

The Inwood Library

4790 Broadway (just north of Dyckman Street)

3:00 – 4:30pm

The U.N. initiative “Step It Up for Gender Equality” adds an important voice for women’s rights, among other gender concerns.  Shakespeare Saturdays takes a look at Gender Equality Issues in Theatre with a panel of women who have been on the Design Team of many Shakespeare productions.  Please join us for a lively panel discussion that will also include a Q&A, Shakespeare songs, and a Fashion Show of select stage attire and weaponry modeled (since Fashion Week will also be in full swing!).

The panelists are:

Beverly Bullock:  Director & Costumer (and Artistic Director of ShakespeareNYC)

Gerit Quealy:  Writer/Historian/Dramaturg

Denise Alessandria Hurd:  Fight Choreographer

Donna Kendall Stearns:  Composer

Soloist:  Alex De Suze

Event is free and open to the public

By Subway:  Either the A-Train or 1-Train:

...A-Train to Dyckman (200th St.):  The library is north of the subway exit, right on that block.
...1-Train to Dyckman:  Walk west a few blocks to Broadway.  Turn north on Broadway and it's on that block.
