'Julius Caesar, the Life of a Roman General'
by Gary Jeffrey, et. al.
I must say I enjoyed reading it because
it was like watching an animated movie,
only one had more time to study each
shot, so to speak, and it was considerably
easier to read than a history book. Not
very long, maybe about 25 pages.
It actually did not focus much on the end
of Caesar's life, the way Shakespeare's
play does, but instead traced his rise thru
the various ranks of the Senate, gave some
details of his marriages (though said nothing
about Brutus possibly being his son), and
gave some sketchy information about his
disagreements with some senators as
well as his battles, such as in Gaul.
Apparently he never lost a battle(?),
though he did not conquer Britain.
I guess I've already made it sound more
boring than it was, but is certainly was
educational as an overview.
