Video codec preference on DASH with multiple AdaptationSet

Hello,

Are there any mechanism for prefer one codec over other?


I prefer reproduce vp9 over h264, how can I do it?

Other example, h265 over vp9 and h264 (mpd for Edge browsers).

Hi Alvaro,

We used to do a more intricate filtering in which we chose codecs based on bandwidth.  For example, if vp9 had lower average bandwidth than h.264 (as it often does), we would prefer vp9.  We had no hard-coded preference order.  If vp9 had similar bandwidth usage to h.265, it would be a narrow decision.

Since then, it seems we have regressed.  We currently have no way to prefer codecs based on bandwidth.  Once the initial selection has been made, we stick with it, but the initial selection is based on available bandwidth only.  If there is much bandwidth available, we wind up choosing the least efficient streams.
