Shaka player playready IE11 - 4012 / 4011 errors

Hi Guys,

I have modular/playready working on my site but for some reason I can not switch bandwidth manually under Internet Explorer. I get 4012 and 4011 errors. Anyway, the adaptaion seems to switch with no problem.

I tried the demo site and getting the same error: 4012 for IE:

This is likely the same as https://github.com/google/shaka-player/issues/890.  It has already been fixed in master.  Can you try the nightly site (https://nightly-dot-shaka-player-demo.appspot.com)?

I was seeing the same issues for Playready in Shaka. Did you keep seeing the Synthetic Key issue when you implemented to your site? Did the Shaka v2.1.5 fix your issues in the console for IE11?

Hi John,

I'm still seeing this error in 2.1.5. It happen for IE11/Playready when I switch bandwidth manually and fot Android/Modular when I try to switch bandwidth manually (selectVariantTrack).

The warning for synthetic keys is just a warning and can be safely
ignored. It is referring to how we get key status events in IE.
Unlike other browsers, on IE we cannot detect if we don't have the
correct keys, so we won't know if we can play all the tracks (for
example, if we only have the keys for SD and not HD). If you are
seeing other error logs or Shaka error codes, I can help with those.

This is what I get when I call to "selectVariantTrack", only IE/Playready and Android/Dash, the other browsers are ok. The problem is that the track is now actually switched.

Good to hear about the synthetic keys warning, but I am also seeing an Invalid Argument box also, any idea what this is?...

@John, we just discovered the "Invalid argument" error ourselves, and we just put out a fix.  The bug was introduced in v2.1.6 and should be fixed in v2.1.7 and v2.2.0.  You can test it now on our nightly build.

@Juan, I am unable to reproduce your results with the latest code.  Do you still see this issue on the nightly build?

Hi Joey,

I tried 2.1.6 and the nightly build this morning, but I see the same issue. Our content is being generated using unified streaming, everything is with DRM.

Is there any additional info I can provide?

We can't reproduce your results.  Please file a bug on github and use the issue template there to provide all the relevant details, including manifest & license URIs, steps to reproduce, specific browser and OS versions, etc.
