Hello Friends,
I am writing to you with respect to a unique opportunity in front of us -
"To be a part of the movement to eradicate curable blindness in India".
Many of you might already know that Sankara Eye Foundation (SEF) is
building its 12th hospital in INDORE (MP). M.P. is placed #28 in the
list of 33 states with its per capita income 30% less then national
average, which means that treatment for curable blindness is out of
reach for most.
Just like all SEF hospital, Indore hospital will be equipped with
best-in-class services to provide both paid and community cares. A
SELF-SUSTAINABLE hospital is one of the core features of every SEF
hospital as it works on a 20-80 model where 20% of the patients pay for
their surgeries and 80% of the patients get them for free. The cost of
free surgeries is borne through paid surgeries and there is no
additional dependency on further charitable donations.
One of the greatest concerns any donor has is whether the money is
optimally deployed for the maximum benefit for the cause. SEF sets a
gold standard in this regard. It has the highest rating of 4 from
Charity Navigator. Gold standard (score 96/100) for accountability,
governance and transparency for not-for-profit organizations.
As an added benefit, each hospital provides opportunity to
under-privileged in the community. The foundation trains girls and women
in the community to be employed as para-medical staff.
Please be a leading force and urge your friends and family and
colleagues at work to join this movement.
