Dear colleagues, Greetings from the GIZ office in Berlin! We, the IKI Small Grants team, are excited to announce the opening of the new funding round for our programme dedicated to local climate and biodiversity action.
But first the facts: At COP29 in Baku, Jennifer Morgan, Germany's State Secretary and Special Envoy for International Climate Action, launched the 6th Call for Proposals. Local organisations in ODA-eligible countries can apply for funding ranging from 60,000 to 200,000 euros for local climate and biodiversity initiatives until 15th January, 2025. We invite organisations ready to make an impact to step forward, apply, and contribute to our shared goal of local climate action for global change.
We ask for your support to reach out to local actors or civil society organisations. We would greatly appreciate it if you could publish this information through your channels. This can be done internally at GIZ, directly to motivated partners and NGOs working in the field of biodiversity and climate or, for example, via email newsletters, on social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook, but also via other communication channels.
Your support will help us to attract the right organisations in the region you are responsible for to this interesting funding opportunity for local solutions. Getting the word out to climate and biodiversity NGOs is also a good opportunity for building partnerships that contribute to Germany's development cooperation goals. Thank you very much.
Attached you will find all the necessary information in a single file, along with a graphic for your communications.

Thank you very much! And please get back to us in case you have any questions.
Best,
The IKI Small Grants team
