The Nature Center staff is working hard while the Visitor Center is closed for the month of January. We'll be ready to reopen on February 1. In the meantime, volunteer PK just can't slow down! She's got 2 programs coming up in January.
On January 22 from 12-4 p.m. she'll be bringing back her awesomely fun program, Snowshoes & Schnapps. Then, on January 28, she, along with the rest of the Central Illinois Beekeepers Association, will be introducing participants to the wonderful world of bees, in Beekeeping 101. Snowshoes & Schnapps
Don’t let deep snow keep you from hiking and exploring the outdoors. Discover snowshoeing! Dick Smith of WildCountry and Patti Koranda will help you find a good fit then teach you to maneuver and float on the snow. Most importantly, you will find out how much fun the snow can be! Afterwards, warm up by the fire with hot apple cider plus cinnamon schnapps or hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps, and plenty of snacks! The use of snowshoes will be provided by WildCountry or bring your own. No snow? No problem! Learn on the lawn so you’ll be prepared for the next snowfall!
