We have some fun programs and happenings coming up at Sugar Grove Nature Center THIS week!

Thursday, October 21

7:00pm-9:00pm

Owls 101 featuring Winking Owl Wine

A Campfire & Cocktails program all about owls!

*This program is for adults 21 years old and up*

Join us for a fun evening celebrating the owls of Funks Grove with a presentation and guided night hike. You'll learn so much about owls, it'll make your head spin! But, not all the way around because that would be weird and owls can't really do that.

The program will be followed by smores around the campfire and Winking Owl Wine.

*Other wine and beer options will also be available*

Program Fees:
$15 for Members of Sugar Grove Nature Center
$15 for Members of the Environmental Education Assocation of Illinois
$20 for non-members

Owls: Family Campfire & S'mores

Learn all about owls, make a fun craft, then enjoy s'mores around the campfire!

Members are free, non-members are $5/person.

Meet a Conservation Police Officer

A Conservation Police Officer from the Department of Natural Resources will have their Education Trailer at Sugar Grove Nature on Saturday, October 23. Visit anytime between 10:00-11:30 a.m. and 12:00-2:00 p.m. He is looking forward to discussing what his job entails, giving advice about getting into the field, and showing you the many exhibits in the Education Trailer. Bring your questions! This event is free, no registration required.

Fall Color Walks

Take a leisurely naturalist-guided walk through the fall forest at Sugar Grove Nature Center. Enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds of Autumn! Hikes will begin at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 and 2:00 p.m. Cost is $2/members, $3/non-members.

Lunch with The Pizza Guys 

The Pizza Guys food truck will be serving up delicious wood-fired pizza straight from the oven between 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.! Learn more about them on Facebook, The Pizza Guys Wood Fired.

*The main road to Sugar Grove Nature Center is currently undergoing major repairs where the road washed away during flooding this summer. Please follow the alternate route signage to get to the Nature Center and Funks Grove Cemetery from the back roads. The route is attached, along with a picture of the signs.*
