Presentation description:
Kinect for Windows is more than just another fancy webcam and XBox One peripheral. Kinect is a 3D scanner, a directional microphone, infrared camera, and a whole lot more. This session will demonstrate the capabilities of the Kinect and show how easy it is to write your own custom applications. We will also explore practical business uses of Kinect and learn how this is more than just a gimmick gaming device.

Speaker bio:
William Fink is a Technical Evangelist with Microsoft and works with students, startups, and developers. His primary role is to help people succeed at building applications for the Microsoft platform, which may include Visual Studio, Apps, and Azure. Before joining Microsoft, William was a consultant for both large and medium firms and primarily focused on Fortune 500 companies. William is also currently an adjunct instructor at Southwestern Illinois College and teaches Java, C#, and mobility classes. William has a MIS degree from the Washington University School of Engineering, in St. Louis.
