Hello, all.

Anyone that cares to join us at Hood River this coming Saturday for our annual safety & operations meeting, please see the information below and RSVP at the link provided below so Candida can prepare enough food for everyone!

What               Brunch safety meeting

When               10:00 – 13:00 Saturday, March 7, 2026

Where  Big yellow Hood Tech Aero hangar on the south side of Ken Jernstedt Airport in Hood River.

Take the main airport entrance, Airport Road, just south of Twin Peaks Restaurant. Park in the lot by the big yellow hangar on the left. Plan to arrive between 9:30 and 10:00 so we can begin serving brunch promptly at 10:00 and get started with our meeting by 11:00.

We will cover our core safety & ground/launch operational model as well as discuss safety & strategies for flying our local area.

Notes:

  • This meeting and completion of the annual spring proficiency plan that will be released at the meeting, are mandatory for everyone—youth or adult—wishing to pilot a Hood River Soaring glider, take a private tow, or participate in training or field operations this calendar year.
  • We will not be streaming this event live, but we intend to record it recorded and post it online within a few days after the meeting.
  • Anyone—youth or adult—that cannot attend this meeting will be required to watch that video and take a test on the contents before piloting a Hood River Soaring glider, taking a private tow, or participating in ground or flight training or field operations this calendar year.
  • Remember, this is a volunteer effort, so yes, this means that if you miss the meeting, you will not be able to fly at HRS until we have time to get the test & video made up and posted online so you can watch the video and take the test.
  • This venue does not have its own chairs; we will bring some chairs, but we will need more, so please consider bringing a chair if you can.

We encourage you to bring friends and family, potential new members and donors, and interested members of the local community. But the Harts do need to know how many are attending in order to know how much food to prepare. So please RSVP here for your group by clicking Signup...

…then entering your name with # attending and your email address, then click Save, like this:

Thanks!
