I finally had a few spare moments this morning, so I used a utility to download and merge all of the chapter PDFs.

(thank the SGCSF for hosting this file in their MS Office/Teams system)

Thanks again to Matt for pointing out the new edition!

The FAA just published the new ‘B’ version of the FAA-H-8083-13B Glider
Flying Handbook.  So far, I’ve only been able to find the online version
here:
https://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aviation/glider_handbook.

Unfortunately, each chapter is divided into separate PDF files, which makes
it difficult to download the whole thing. It probably won’t be available
in print for a while.  At first glance, it doesn’t look like much has
changed. I haven’t had a chance to do a deep dive on it yet.

Happy new year!

Thanks Noel. Just ordered it on Amazon! In the past the FAA had declined offers by SSA to review before publication and I hope this edition has SSA / Safety Foundation input.

Thanks for the updated copy.  Found any errors yet?

I know that Tom Knauff sold his own "A" version with his numerous corrections.  Knowing Tom he probably sent a copy to the FAA.

There was the OMG OOPS FUNNY error in the original 2003 "A" version where they used the word "wench" instead of "winch" throughout the document (corrected in the 2013 "A" version).   The other early error was with the two aerotow signals graphics for "Towplane please turn left/right" which were reversed (not corrected until the May 2015 errata sheet).  Oh well, no one is perfect.
