I don't know how many of you are aware of this incredible resource, but
all the printed yearbooks from Edward I to Henry VIII are available in
a slightly reduced form, but giving all salient details. It is fully
searchable with all kinds of parameters.

brilliant David new to me
but LAPHAM searh found
Clapham (Cloppam), manor of

and Clapam

but also
1407.029: "Lopham was presumably an apprentice who never became a
Serjeant, and also spoke in 1410.024."
La Duchess de Northfolk porte accion pur chaser en son parc apud
Lopham', in Comitatu Northfolk 1498

Lopham (or Lophan), park of, in Gilcrosse hundred, in Norfolk
Norfolk (Northfolk), County of
Gilcrosse, hundred of, in Norfolk

I was looking for early mentions of the LAPHAM name
because today to find the originof any surname is about fininding the
earliest written examples

Which also may be on stone or metal like the runes
