Hello Hugh,

Brick Wall:
Jessie Emily GREEN bn ca 1888, according to marriage certificate.
She married Edward George ROGERS on 26 Dec 1914 Luton, Kent. Her father
was recorded as William Arthur GREEN on marriage cert.
I've been unable to locate her birth record, nor can I find her in
either the 1891 or 1901 census returns. I have found a "possible" in
1901 (RG13 Pc727 Fo118 Pg31). She was recorded as living in Luton,
Kent on her marriage cert, and Chatham Kent in Apr 1918 when her son
Edward William ROGERS was born.
Jessie was my grandmother. Unfortunately, there are no known (to me)
surviving family members I can ask for more information about her,
since both my parents died before I got interested in my family's
history.

Hello Hugh,
> could she have been married twice?
I suppose it's possible, but details as given on her marriage cert don't
indicate that this was so. That is, she listed as Spinster and her
surname matches that of her father. Of course, she could easily have
been lying, although witnesses signed as William Arthur Green and
Arthur William Green (possibly sibling/uncle?).
> what was her father's name and occupation on the marriage certificate?
Name was William Arthur GREEN, occupation recorded as, very
unhelpfully, "Labourer". :-(
Finally, my apologies for the multiple signatures in my previous post;
I was rather inattentive, when creating that message.
