HOMEPAGE SHOCK (Summarized)
by Teo Hwee Nak
"A 16-year-old student created a homepage on the Internet declaring
that he was gay, complete with his photograph and the name of his
school...
St. Andrew's Sec. didn't give him his school cert until he had
taken it off the net...
School called parents, telling them that the SBAstards are going
to take action against their son...
A SBAstard said, "We responded to public feedback and advised the
school to take it up directly with the student."...
Boy said, "All I wanted to do was to make a statement that I'm
proud of who and what I am."
Mother was upset initially, but finally realized the boy had his
own problems. Now, she was upset with the school's decision of
holding back the leaving cert and had lodged a complain to MOE."
Geddit? The net is no longer a place of free speech and expression,
at least in the context of Singapore. First it was the all-popular
David Tan libel lawsuit, next the break-in arrest of the child-porn
movie downloader, then the erasure of a homepage containing racist
jokes, now the silencing and condemnation of a sexually-repressed
homosexual. It is only fortunate that the SBAstards will only take
action when a fucking 'can't-take-a-little-nonsense' fag calls upon
them, otherwise I'm telling you they're going to have one hell of a
time trying to eliminate the internet of its so-called moral threats.
Poor boy. How's he ever gonna face the world...
Anyway, if SBA, the police or St. Andrew's are bent on gunning down
homos, they should really start with the 'pros' who frequent Music
World, Body Talk and other esoteric hangouts -- they should start
with our beloved, supposedly-straight, much-sought-after (my foot!)
and much-publicized TCS megastars. All it takes is to have someone
respectable to lodge a complain about TCS to SBA and logically the
latter will have to do something about it. But then again, why would
a dog bite its master?
Andrew Seow, Sebastien Shen and Robin Goh (they're supposed to be an
openly-gay couple), Benedict Goh, Steven Lim, Chen Hanwei, Terence
Cao, James Lye, Kenneth Liang, etc., etc., are all prime suspects.
My cousin's in the entertainment industry and she knows, so don't
come and say I'm bullshitting...
I can name a few more, but then I don't suppose that many of you are
interested.
So for heaven's sake, leave that poor boy alone and pick on the real
Queers instead...

The boy doesn't deserve to be treated like that, and while it

Not too sure about Benedict Goh (recently someone saw him with a girl). Any
stories to "confirmed"?
SAF also got lots of gays who got away because of their rank. There was
once a Major (? not too sure) who ask a mess boy to suck ****. It was found
out and he was posted to another camp (a coverup?).
James Lye is also famous for beating females ("confirmed" in SG.REC.TV and
also a report from recent Chinese papers).
A friend who works in show business (in charge of decoration) told me most
male models are gays and 99.9% of female contestants of beauty pageants are
materialistic sluts (rumour says that they slept their way towards
championship).
Ivy Lee was once booked by a boss of an entertainment company. Zoe Tay as I
have said earlier is also a pro. The recently banned "star" (you know who)
used the most primitive way to get her album out. Majority of the young
actresses are pro according to an auntie who works inside TCS.
Maybe SBA should start investigating all of them.
Of course, all these are just "rumours".

I do agree with you on the unfair treatment of the boy. He might have been
brave enough to out himself on the web, but, he should have known better.
To admit or do something liberal in such a 'conservative' society as ours
is inviting trouble from the authorities.
As for the TCS stars, yes I've heard of the many rumours.
I have a point to make about this:
How do you fight the system? Not by attacking the system,
but by fighting within the system.
Remember the movie BraveHeart?
The Brit King, Longshanks, said that the way to defeat
the Scots was not thru war, but by breeding them out.
Same in this case, more and more people in positions of
authority of society are being noticed as gay.
Interesting, isn't it?
Well, just a thought. :)
Right on, Chuan Herng! Just when I thought the rest of Singapore
are all idolizers ignorant about the cruel truth of TCS artistes.
Yes. ALL of them are gays except one -- Jason Oh. I saw him with
his girlfriend in Genting six months back, so he's definitely not.

Goodness. You really know your stuff. Brian Wong, I heard he got

Dick and Jacintha is also not unheard of. Kinda reminds you of

Robin Goh... 100%. My cousin saw him and Sebastian Shen kissing

Ben Goh is still set in controversy. My cousin says he is indeed
seen with a girl. He's a Christian, but then again these days being
Christian doesn't forbid you to engaging in unnatural sex... There
are rumours that Ben is what he is today because he slept with the

Yup. I heard the one about Zoe. You're absolutely right. See, all of

Much as I detest gays 'cause I find them sick and I'm a heterosexual,
but I have to admit that this community is kind of becoming part of
the world. They are already too many of them and it's still growing. I
think society has to except them and nobody has the right to shut them

I think racist jokes are sick. But it depends actually. I mean his
webpage should contain jokes of many races and not pinpointed to only
one race. He should also include his own race too. With all these,
then only will the page not become objectional. Me and some of my

Sorry Jason, some questions:
I resent that last remark...Biblically speaking, God did not wish
Homosexuality to occur. Leviticus 18:22 "You shall not lie with a male

I have got religious objections to homosexual relations myself BUT I
say "Good for the boy". It takes courage, especially at 16 to make a
statement like he has. The withholding of his results is IMO an
exceedingly petty act on the part of the school. If they are not
comfortable with have a boy who is gay (or perhaps a boy that is
confused about his sexuality), OR if having a gay in their school
conflicts with the religious character of the school, then perhaps
they could ask him to leave - BUT at give him his results and the
opportunity to make his way in life among others who may accept him,
in spite of his sexual orientation.

You're not bullshitting. One or two of these are confirmed gays, but who

truths can destroy lives.

And I resent your preaching, so there. It's your prerogative to be a
christian and treat the word in the bible as gospel truth. I'm not
going to belittle your convictions. But please, keep your resentment
and convictions to your own damn self. It has yet to be proven whether

preach, "Pope Pius" may actually be right. You have no way of proving
otherwise.

True. Unfortunately God allowed his creations to go out of hand
by the mechanism of evolution and variation...
>Pope Pius XIII wrote:
>> The SAJC boy is merely proud
>> of what he is by nature- proud of what God made him.
>I resent that last remark...Biblically speaking, God did not wish

Au contraire- if a person is Homosexual by nature, it must be God's
will for that person to have Homosexual inclinations. Acting out the
desires are another thing- I refer merely to the inclinations. It has
been postulated that God creates certain people to be Gay or Lesbian
to serve him in a calling to celibacy. GOd does not create something
for no reason. I assume you are not working on the assumption that all
Homosexuals are insatiable perverts. Most I know are decent people
with upright lives ( Yes, they do have a life out of the bed)...
>Leviticus 18:22 "You shall not lie with a male
>as with a woman; it is an abomination."
"Abomination" (TO'EBAH) is a technical cultic term for what is
ritually unclean, such as mixed cloth, pork, and intercourse with
menstruating women. It's not about a moral or ethical issue. This
Holiness Code (chapters 17 - 26) proscribes men "lying the lyings of
women." Such mixing of sex roles was thought to be polluting. But both
Jesus and Paul rejected all such ritual distinctions (cf. Mark
7:17-23; Romans 14:14,20). The Fundamentalist Journal admits that this
Code condemns "idolatrous practices" and "ceremonial uncleaness" and
concludes: "We are not bound by these commands today."
>Also, what about the destruction
>of Sodom in Genesis 19???
Sodom was destroyed for it's selfishness and inhospitability.
According to evangelical Bible scholar William Brownlee: "'sodomy'
(so-called) in Genesis is basically oppression of the weak and
helpless; and the oppression of the stranger is the basic element of
Genesis 19:1-9." Yale's John Boswell notes that "Sodom is used as a
symbol of evil in dozens of places [in the Bible] but not in a single
instance is the sin of the Sodomites specified as Homo- sexuality."
Listen to the prophet Ezekiel (16:48-49) on the sin of Sodom: "As I
live, says the Lord God, . . . This was the sin of your sister city of
Sodom: she and her suburbs had pride, excess of food, and prosperous
ease, but did not help or encourage the poor and needy. They were
arrogant and this was abominable in my eyes." (Cf. Matthew 10:15) The
men of Sodom tried to dominate the strangers at Lot's house by
subjecting them to sexual abuse. Such attempted gang-rape is about
humiliation and violence, not same-sex affection.

Ben Goh was the 1st runner up in Manhunt Singapore a few years back,
right? Well, I heard that the contestants had to go to the show's
creater's house and parade nude in front of him. And that if the winner of
the S'pore contest didn't
sleep with him, he would not be able to participate in the International
contest.
I also heard that Ben did it with Kenneth Liang to rise to where he is

Whether any member of my cast has homosexual leanings may be material
for private speculation, but surely it isn't your job to spread the

"Not saying because one of them frequents this newsgroup"? Is that how
your petty little mind operates? It is a most cowardly thing to speak
ill of others behind their backs while shying away from doing the same
in their faces. Just because you *think* Brian Wong et al don't
frequent this newsgroup, you fire away with vicious and defamatory
gossip about them, but when it comes to my cast, you dare not go into
details. Why is this so?
I here throw down the gauntlet- Jason, listen up and listen good.

Edward, if you've read my previous post, you would've known that
it wasn't my intention to be a nosey rumourmonger. The main
subject was the boy who declared himself gay and who was slammed
by his school as a result. Look, delving into people's private
lives is bad. And in a moment of thoughtlessness I actually
carried on the thread and focused on this mindless gay-bashing.
For that I sincerely apologize.

Simple. The Army Daze crew is relatively new to the scene and I
haven't heard that many rumours about it. But most importantly,
I don't wish to hurt anyone I've personally spoken to. i.e. you.
Look, I'm not saying you are gay, alright? I donno if you're the
cruel, vengeful sort, but let's just suppose you happen to know
something about me that's bound to fling my reputation into the
drain if exposed, will you spell it out for all to hear? And if
you were to hate me that much, will you do just that without
hesitating and humiliate me in front of everyone in a public
newsgroup like this one? I won't. I have a heart too. And I've
always assumed you were one of us -- us: this big happy group
of newsposters, a family in its own right. And I will not do
anything to hurt my family. Maybe I did in the past, but it's
different this time...

That's a speculation. The rest are witnessed accounts.

Since when has being gay been a problem? It's not some disorder or
disease. Homosexuality is a part of nature apparent in all species,
just a normal part of genetic variation. The SAJC boy is merely proud
of what he is by nature- proud of what God made him.
There is nothing wrong with being proud of who we are because it is not
wrong, and I know I do not have a problem. Now don't even try to start
spewing biblical verses at me and telling me about how it says that
homosexuality is a sin, that it is unnatural or whatever. I think it is
all a bunch of crap. First of all, I am not a religious person, so the
Bible does not govern my life, and second, like I just said, I think it is
bullcrap. Besides, since when was the Bible declared as the "law of life"
to all humankind? It is just something of an excuse for those to hide
behind to do the one thing they should not be doing--hate.

Much as I appreciate the good intent, I don't think one should only
care about pple one has interacted with. I don't think twice about
donating to starving refugees simply because I haven't personally
spoken to. Bad example, I know, but my brain is not running on full

Bottom line- it's not our business to be *Outing* pple. When they are
ready to come out of the closet, they will. I think it only fair for
them to come out to the world on their own terms and at their own
pace.

I'm not the vengeful sort, but still- it just isn't done to fling the
reputation of others into the gutter. You and I ( I assume) may have
no hangups about homosexuality, but that doesn't mean everyone else on
the newsgroup doesn't either. When I'm with my theatre and
entertainment circle friends, we may yak about sleaze like you do, but
that's with the understanding that we're merely exchanging info- not
smearing. We all work on the basis that being an insider, one doesn't
blab outside the circles. Similarly, One doesn't blab like this to the
general public who may not understand and may not be mature enough to
swallow this information without thinking of it as the scandal of the
century.

Yes, I've seen some pretty, er, ah... how shall one say....
*Interesting* things too. But I don't blab about it. I know pple value
their privacy. Anyway, I'll be ruined if pple at Zouk (Not to even

I'm not even a christian, But i do have a sense of right & wrong. To me it
IS un-natural. The reason why I said these people have a problem is because
if GOD ( or whoever create us ) wanted MAN to be GAYS, He/She would have
made MAN bi-sexual, like some spieces of plants. BUT He/She created WOMAN.
I could go on & on about this type of reasoning, but when I read what you

Approximately 1 in 10 people are born left-handed. Does this make
left-handedness "unnatural"? Anyhow, homosexuality does apparently occur
in nature. Check out these references:

I respect your views, but not your research.

Unnatural? Hmm... by whose definition?
Same-sex behaviour occurs in animals as well.
And if you're talking unnatural religiously, well, I would put say
that it is no less unnatural than people taking oaths of celibacy or
refusing to eat certain foods.

Well, if God intended for MAN to communicate using the internet, God
would have oh, laid down a divine set of fiber-optic cable and gave us
all the natural ability to link ourselves straight into the Net right?
Besides which, your argument rests on one central theory, that
homosexual behaviour is a choice, and not a result of someone's
nature.
If it is indeed the result of one's nature, then your argument falls
apart, since you believe in a God that created us, and therefore that
God must have intended somewhere along the line that some people would
be homosexual.

Bad argument. First of all, and most obviously, not everyone believes in
the Genesis account of creation. Secondly, even if God created the female
sex, it does *not* follow that God did not want some men to be gay. You
should try exercising your brain so that you can come up with better
arguments to post here. :)

Hello! This ain't "alt.god.preach" or something like that. When Jason
first started this thread he didn't mention anything about God. I'm a
christian but I do't think you all (preachers) should be doing this
here. A whole lot of people probably don't even know what you are
talking about. The fact over here is, that there is no law here
banning homosexuality. There is no law here banning a person from
expressing himself. So, now, WTF in this boy's case? In God's point of
view, there is another story. So please stick to the topic.

Nope ... As regards to the RELIGON, Taking oaths of celibacy or refusing
to eat certain foods are all meant to aid one in their serach of a morally
correct & better life .. In my context, being a gay does not fit in these
areas ...

Nope ! Let me first redefine that GOD ( the ONE I'm referring to ) does
not necessary be a christian .. HE did not intend MAN to be GAYS because
that we make us a SINGLE-SEX being, but the fact is HE created WOMAN with
all the NATURAL abilities to PRO-CREATE & ATTRACT MAN, The reason why there
are GAYS out there are due to other factors NOT GOD !

Zhix, at this time and age, you shouldn't be saying this. To insist
that nobody in this world is born a gay, is to reject the existence
of "inborn" talents/stupidity. Likewise, you would've agreed that
introvertness and extrovertness in the individual is determined only
by the environment; that criminal behaviour is a totally unrelated
subject in genetic research. There has already been suggestions put
forward by reputable scientists in America as to how hetero-/homo-/
bi-sexuality is indeed influenced in varying and disputable degrees,
by the genes, and isn't purely an orientation/behaviour/preference
that one chooses to possess.
Here are some relevant points which should be of interest to you...
GENETIC/BIOLOGICAL EVIDENCE:
- Sexual orientation is believed to be determined shortly after
birth.
- Studies had been performed and replicated of identical twins who
were separated at birth and raised in different homes/environment.
It has been found in many cases that if one twin is homosexual, the
other is also homosexual.
- Research led by the National Cancer Institute in the US compared
the DNA of 40 pairs of homosexual brothers. They found that almost
all shared a genetic marker in the Xq28 region of the X chromosome.
While this study has not precisely isolated a gay gene, it suggests
that sexual orientation does have a genetic component.
- When brains of men who had died from complications of AIDS were
examined, it was found that the INAH3, a structure within the
hypothalamus, differed in size between heterosexual and homosexual
men. This study suggests that sexual orientation has a biological
substrate.
SOCIAL EVIDENCE:
- Bad parenting doesn't necessarily "instill" homosexuality in the
child. In fact, many people suffer from all types of abuse and
neglect as children, yet grow up to be heterosexual.
RELIGIOUS EVIDENCE:
- The doors to biblical scriptures have always been kept open to
various scholastic discussions and intellectual interpretations.
So it is theoretically possible for one verse to hold multiple
meanings. And statistically-speaking, out of some 31,173 verses
contained in the Holy Bible, less than a dozen allegedly dealt
with the topic of homosexuality. And the coined word 'homosexual'
did not appear in any translation of the Bible until post-WWII.
In biblical times, there were already words in the Greek language
to represent same-sex sexual activities, yet they never did once
appear in the original text of the New Testament. King James I,
who oversaw the publication of the modern-day King James Version
of the Holy Scriptures in 1611, was a renowned homophobe.
- Various verses in the current version of our Bible appear to speak
out against homosexuals and homosexuality. Not so, according to
some intellects familiar with the history of the Bible.

Ultimately they had to... since society disapproves of it,
and biblical records despise it, they have to find away to
right it, through the authority of God... through an
alternative interpretation of scriptures.
My advice is -- right or wrong, the decision if yours.
Eventually you'll know THE answer... after you die.

So what rules do the society goes by..the society does not solely consist
of normal straight humans...there are also gays, lesbians...and is the
Bible the law-maker here...we are on earth not in heaven.

how do u define abnormal or unusual behavior??? Is it somthing that u
yourself cannot accept and that whole lot will be condemned. If being gay
is not acceptable by u...methinks it's very sad.....there are a lot of
things that we won't accept, but the main thing is that we must try to
understand, and it is onlt thru that that may we be a more mature and
tolerant person...

How do u know that He did not encountered such a problem??? Maybe it is
part of the God's "Grand Scheme" too...or just a work of Mother Nature!!!

Walk hand in hand on a beach? Isn't he scare that this will provoke that
homophobic TCS?
: another one: seems that it is common knowledge amongst the glitz circles
: that to win manhunt one has to sleep with the president of the main

: from the semi finals becos of this.
This is really so "common". Seen the recent Miss China Town contest? Many
of my friends felt that the champion was really ugly (her huge mouth and
flat body).
: also: this yr's winner is gay.
Again, any "confirmation" stories?
: they abound, but really, is it really important? should we not judge them
: on professional merits??
We are not judging. We are really just gossiping.
Pls don't drag God into the issue... or does it really made U feel good
?? Pls don't quote phrases in the Bible because it's man interpretation
and variety emerges. ...(are U sure that what U quote is what God is
trying to say or just a man interpretation .... ) and it's made me very
sick... Althought I'm not a holy man, or a saint neither am I a angel
but I know that ...#$%$%&&&8. *$... (up to U to decide )
***** We are getting out of pt here... ****
Homosexually, is cause by ?????? ( many factors....and yes..yes.. pls
don't quote any Doctor this time... .. )If someone Chose (Want) to be a
homo then leave it....
In the case, the SBA is merely doing what they are told to do .. that is
#$%@%@#$#$$%*&* So is there freedom of speech (which is the main issue
here, not the boy or TCS actors ( who is being drag into this) althought
it's is very interesting examples.....)
So is there freedom of speech ???
** In sg.newgroup, U ppl are kidding.. go some other group...
** In personel web pages, put in some other free web pages that is not
in Singapore...(server that is not in Singapore)
That what is the SBA for ?? Hey, they are just doing their job..
Do U know that these kind news we are creating here ? WE ARE Gossiping
(and U don't know even whether anything is truth about the TCS actors...
)...Thanks ....
Got my hint...

This is a manifestation of the old double-standard; if a girl was seen
walking hand-in-hand with another girl, no one will bat an eyelid! Anyway
I fail to see how this is "confirmation", as you put it...

I beg to differ ... I really see a gay brought up in an environment whether
his parents TRY to psycho him to be a guy and he still end up like a gu-niang
anyawy. :(
Choice ??? Sometimes I wonder their XY chromosomes force them to be girl in
nature unconsciously ...

Errrr...I though Raymond Yong was the straight one? Girlfriend is Jamie
Lee (Happybelly, 999). Reportedly very much in love.

oh just to confirm, i think i heard something like that too. my cousin's
boyfriend took part in the manhunt, the one together with ben goh. heard
from him that the organiser did call up some of the contestants and "ask
them out". i remembered my cousin lamented to me: she never thought that
her rival in love would be a man!!!
so anyone has anymore stories to tell?
>remember army daze? the malcolm png character is gay.
Oi Oi Oi!
I dun recall having put being Homesexual into my character development
of Malcolm...
If you're talking about me, now *that* is a completely seperate
issue..
